Anxiety isn't just a thought pattern — it lives in the body. The racing heart, the chronic tension, the sense that something bad is always about to happen. Talk therapy can help you understand it. Somatic therapy helps your nervous system learn that it's actually safe to let it go.

Why somatic therapy?

There is an innate intelligence within you that already knows how to heal. Somatic therapy works by listening to that intelligence rather than overriding it.

We work with the language of your body — sensations, impulses, emotions, and the images that live beneath the surface. Your body holds the story of how you've survived. It also holds the biological pathways to change.

What sessions look like

My approach is grounded in Somatic Experiencing (SE). Unlike traditional exposure therapy, we don't have to rehash the past to heal it. Instead:

  • We slow down and work at a pace your nervous system can actually absorb

  • We track the felt sense — the tightening in your chest, the shift in your breath, the impulse to move

  • We support regulation, gently completing old survival patterns like fight, flight, freeze, or fawn

Over time, anxiety softens. Reactivity gives way to response. Patterns shaped by trauma or shame begin to dissolve, making room for self-acceptance, strength, and a greater sense of ease.

Creating an Inclusive, Neuro-Affirming Space

Neurodiversity-affirming: As an Autistic and ADHD therapist, I don't see your neurotype as something to manage. We explore how your unique system works and how to reduce the shame acquired by living in a world not designed for you.

LGBTQ+ affirming: I identify as queer and hold space where your gender, sexuality, and relationship structures are respected — not pathologized.

Anti-racist and social justice informed: I recognize how systemic oppression shapes our physiology and invite conversations about race, culture, and systemic harm on your terms.
